How it works

Complete mandatory COVID-19 testing for non-fully vaccinated international arrivals into the UK and reduce your 10 day quarantine period with a complete Test to Release package.

This package includes:

  • 1 x day 2 PCR test (mandatory)
  • 1 x day 5 PCR test (optional)
  • 1 x mandatory day 8 PCR test (mandatory)

Arrivals who have been fully vaccinated under a UK government approved vaccination programme more than 14 days before departure are only required to take the mandatory day 2 PCR test and are not required to quarantine upon arrival.

Provide samples on days 2, 5 & 8 of your arrival into the UK and return them all individually using the prepaid Royal Mail Tracked 24 service.
4) Recieve your results
Results Collection
Each result will be delivered by email within 36 hours of your sample being received at the laboratory. You are free to end your quarantine as soon as you receive a negative day 5 result.

Free booking amendments

Make changes to your booking details - including your arrival date and delivery address - as many times as necessary for free, up until your kit is dispatched.

Status change refunds

Should the status of your departure country be added to the UK’s red list before you travel, all tests you have purchased will be refunded in full.

In the rare case that you do not receive your result within 36 hours of your sample being received, we will refund the cost of your test in full.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your kit will be dispatched via DPD for arrival on Day 5 of your quarantine period, as per government guidelines.

You will receive an email from DPD once your kit has shipped, advising you of the expected delivery date.

On the day of delivery, you will also receive an email and text (if mobile number is provided) advising you of the 1-hour time slot your package will be delivered.

You can make amendments to your address or delivery date directly via the DPD website, following the instructions provided in your delivery emails.

As we often send out multiple kits to one address, or kits are purchased on behalf of another person, every kit we sent out needs to be registered to a specific individual – and contact details provided for receipt of the result - before a result can be sent.

You will need your passenger locator reference booking number, which will be in the following format: FITNE1234567 and the specific barcode on your sample tube.

Your result will be sent to you via email within 36 hours from receipt at our laboratory.

Samples that arrive by 12 noon are generally resulted the same day. If they arrive in the afternoon they are processed the next morning. If there is a need to repeat a test on a sample received before 12 noon it will also be done the next morning.

Please note that our lab is closed on Saturday, but can still receive samples via Royal Mail. Samples received on a Saturday will therefore be processed and resulted on Sunday.

Whilst the vast majority of our samples are processed within this timeframe (> 98%), we unfortunately cannot offer a guarantee on this as turnaround times are dependent on laboratory capacity and we may experience delays during periods of high demand.

Please note, that whilst this test may be occasionally referred to as a ‘Day 5’ test, this is because the test can only be taken on Day 5 or later, and does not take into account transit and lab processing time, which will lengthen the period of quarantine.

Yes – if you want a ‘Day 5’ result and can get your sample to our Southampton-based lab before 12 noon via a courier service, then our lab is able to receive these during certain hours to expedite your results. We do please ask that you contact them in advance to advise when they will be delivered to ensure there are no issues with receipt.

If you test positive on Day 2 you will have to follow the UK government guidelines on what to do next.

Currently this means self-isolating for 10 days after the day you took the test. This means you cannot leave quarantine early, even if you do a Test to Release test.

We do offer refunds on Test to Release kits that cannot be used. If your kit has not yet been dispatched, we will provide you with a full refund. If your kit has already been dispatched, we will issue you with a partial refund, with a deduction of £17.50 to cover the cost of the kit and postage. This refund will be made on request, and when the kit is returned to us for safe disposal.
